Konya Cicim

Sold Out

Cicim is a small, handwoven flatweave textile made with tightly packed cotton or wool warps and brightly dyed wool wefts. Created with slit‑weave and supplementary‑weft techniques, it features a slightly raised, durable pattern. Traditionally woven by Anatolian village and nomadic weavers for saddlebags, bags, and decorative panels, cicim rugs are valued for their folk artistry, regional motifs, and sturdy, functional construction.

Info

A finely woven cicim that blends tribal geometry with a soft, neutral palette — this handmade rug features six framed medallions arranged in two vertical columns, each set against a warm cream field. Each square contains a stepped diamond motif built from small, precise stitches that create subtle checkerboard texture; the medallions are outlined in deep navy for crisp definition. Narrow, vertical stripe bands filled with tiny hooked motifs run between and around the panels, introducing slender color accents—muted teal, warm gold, burgundy, and soft olive—that lend an understated, vintage character.
